Description

Really love this unusual trio of galaxies and thank you  Mike Selby  for the data and collaboration processing this image!!

ARP 286 is a triplet in Virgo, including the NGC 5566, 5569 and 5560 and is a group of gravitationally interacting galaxies.
NGC 5566 is a barred spiral galaxy around 65 million light years away and is the biggest galaxy in Virgo, is situated close to the celestial equator, so it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year.
Above and to its right is the small, blue spiral galaxy NGC 5569. At the bottom of the image is the distorted spiral NGC 5560, presumably distorted by the gravity of NGC 5569.
Imaged in LRGB on the PlaneWave CDK 1000 and CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile

Image Data, Preprocessing and Luminance deconvolution: Mike Selby

My part of the processing done in Pixinsight and Photoshop.

SPCC  was used to do color calibration and BXT custom settings for the Lum. The details were brought out iteratively with careful stretch and blend.
